Mount shuksan

The Sulphide Glacier route on Mount Shuksan is an excellent beginner–intermediate mountaineering climb that offers scenic glacier travel and an exciting low 5th class scramble to the summit pyramid. I offer low ratio custom 3-day programs throughout the summer season. On each trip, you will learn the fundamentals of ice axe & crampon use, self arrest and roped glacier travel. Previous experience in the mountains is recommended and previous experience backpacking (overnight camping with a pack) is required. This is an excellent and diverse climb with glacier travel, snow climbing and rock scrambling. Mt Shuksan is often less busy than the nearby Mt Baker, and makes for an exhilarating and memorable experience in the mountains for adventurous climbers looking to expand their skill set.
